Associate Professor and lecturer at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (ASP). Studies: at the Painting Department of the ASP in Warsaw, New York Institute of Photography, University of the State of New York, USA, CapeStudies, Capetown, RSA. In 1995 he obtained a diploma with distinction at the Faculty of Painting. A student of professor Stanisław Wieczorek, professor Walter Karling, professor Tadeusz Dominik and professor Zbigniew Gostomski. He is a member of National Geographic Society (2002), the Management Board of OW ZPAP (2002), and Bundesverband Kunstlerinen und Kunster, Berlin (2003). Since 2004 he has been a lecturer at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and as of 2005 the Head of Photography Studies at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. In 2006 he was awarded a Ph.D. degree in film arts at the Lódź State Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre (under supervision of professor Józef Robakowski) and in 2007 he obtained habilitated doctor degree in film arts at the same school. As of 2008 he has been the head of the diploma granting photography lab at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts; he is also the head of the Multimedia Chair of the Graphic Arts Department at the ASP. In 2008 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Mongolian University of Culture and Art, Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

Dąbrowski is a painter, director of short feature films and producer of off cinema films. He is the author of a few dozens of individual exhibitions organized in Poland and abroad; his works were also presented during the collective exhibitions. Dąbrowski is a laureate of a number of prestigious awards and distinctions such as: 2007– special award granted by the Mayor of the City of Warsaw; an honorary award of the Centrum Sztuki [Arts Centre] in Elbląg; Polish-American Cultural Links Award – an award granted by the US Ambassador in Poland; 2006 – International Leadership United States, Washington, USA; 2004 – award of Arteon monthly magazine, 2003 – Talense awards; 2002 – Grand Prix, Ap-Art., Berlin; 2001 – Euro American award at the Festiwal Malarstwa Polskiego Bielska Jesień [Bielska Jesień Polish Painting Festival], Bielsko-Biała. In the period 2005–2007, Dąbrowski was a curator of the Galeria Sztuki Mediów [Multimedia Arts Gallery) of the Warsaw ASP and curator of both domestic and international artistic ventures including: initiator and co-curator of Warszawski Festiwal Fotografii Artystycznej [Warsaw Festival of Art Photography], Warszawskie Biennale Sztuki Mediów [Warsaw Biennale of Media Arts], curator of: European Contemporary Photography Biennal, a photographic plain air workshop in North Africa, Sousse (2005–2009), Polish-American photographic workshop in North Africa, Monastir (2009), photographic workshop in Kazimierz Dolny. Dąbrowski is also editor-in-chief of the MediaArt magazine.
